mixed.

My name is Jennifer Rosario, I am Puerto Rican on my Dad's side and Irish, Swedish and Norwegian on my Mom's side. When people ask me how I identify now, I say Puerto Rican. I grew up with that side of the family, the culture, the values, the food! Growing up, I often struggled with my identity and what it means to me and to others to be mixed. Telling others I was Puerto Rican growing up, I was often met with disbelief and people would tell me I wasn't because I was "too white" or I didn't speak spanish well enough, or I wasn't "hispanic enough." I have since met people who have had similar experiences to me being a part of multiple worlds. The ever-present challenge of being “enough” is the driving force that inspired this work, to interview others and share with you what it means to be a part of multiple worlds.
