Thankfully, some very sensible progress is being made towards an effective transit system.
Green Line
The Green Line light rail is sure to be a winner, connecting both downtowns via areas of huge ridership potential such as the U of M, Prospect Park, Midway, and Frogtown.
A-Line
The arterial bus rapid transit system proposed for the A-Line is not as flashy and exciting as a new train route, but its service aims to be new-user friendly and an exception to Metro Transit's notoriously unreliable bus schedules.
Nicollet/Central Street Car
There is an exciting proposal from the city of Minneapolis to run a street car down Central Ave in the St Anthony Main district south through downtown all the way to Lake St. Connecting these upbeat, transit oriented commnities will surely be a success.
