The relationship between the 2nd dimension and the 3rd dimension is what caused me to question: is there a 4th [spatial] dimension?

Knowing how squares rise up through the z-axis to form a cube is crucial in understanding the relationship between cubes, and hypercubes.

The highlighted square located at the bottom of the cube is duplicated above itself, on the z axis. It is pushed into the 3rd dimension, then the four vertices are connected. Creating a square.

This video shows does a fantastic job of describing the relationship between squares to cubes. Additionally it transforms into a hypercube uniformlly. Click here to discover 3D to 4D transformation!
