Midway The Right Way

~ Communicating the Effects that External Impacts have on Local Businesses ~

About "Midway The Right Way"

The purpose of this blog is to showcase how small businesses are being affected by the ongoing problems of COVID-19, lay-offs, worker shortages, and supply shortages in addition to other societal and economical impacts. I interviewed the owners of three Midway businesses including Flying Pig Thrift, Ms.Greenjeans and the Black Sea so that you can learn their stories and their prospectives. Sharing these stories will allow readers like yourself to understand the importance of supporting local businesses and will give you additional resources on how you can get involved and help.

Why Support Local Businesses

Small businesses are what make communities whole. Not only are you benefitting from personalized experiences, but you are also helping local business owners continue what they love. By supporting these businesses, you are strengthening the local economy and helping to increase job accessibility (1).

Now it is more important than ever to support these small businesses. According to the World Economic Forum, 47.3% of the U.S.'s private workforce is made up of small business employees, and 34% of these businesses closed as they were hit the hardest as Covid-19 spread across the country (2).

What will you do to show your support?
