Current plans propose to send the Green Line down the Kenilworth bike path/rail corridor, completely bypassing Uptown!

The Orange Line BRT is sent swiftly down 35W to the suburbs where it will surely be underused

The Blue Line and proposed Central/Nicollet Street Car stop at Lake St, but in order to travel east-west along the Lake St Corridor (i.e. between thriving, walkable, transit oriented neighborhoods and not between downtown and the suburbs) one must use an old school bus.

My recommendation is to use the Midtown Greenway for a new Light Rail linec connecting to the Green Line in the west and the Blue Line in the east (though future extensions could send it into St Paul if Canadian Pacific rail line owners ever become willing to relinquish the long unused section of right of way that could extend the Midtown Greenway and new Light Rail all the way to Downtown St Paul.

A rail transit line along Hennepin Ave or Lyndale Ave would also be a vital and highly used connection. If one of the streets was dug up to make room for an undergound Light Rail line, it would surely be one of the Twin Cities' busiest routes for decades to come. Unfortunately, the cost and opposition to that would make it unlikely. Easier options could include a Street Car or arterial bus rapid transit service like the proposed A-Line.
