Dice
Dice are a D&D player's best friends. A typical dice set is made up of seven dice. The most important is the d20. This is the dice players will roll for checks and attacks. Other dice
are used for hit dice (to determine HP and heal) and dealing damage. The dice are named for the number of sides present (excluding the d100 which has counts from 0 to 100 by 10s). Below is a visual guide to a typical dice set.
d20 - saving throws, skills and ability checks, and attacks
d12 - determine weapon/spell damage, barbarian hit die
d100 - determine various outcomes
d10 - determine weapon/spell damage, fighter, ranger, paladin hit die
d8 - determine weapon/spell damage, cleric, druid, rogue, warlock hit die
d6 - determine weapon/spell damage, wizard, sorcerer hit die
d4 - determine weapon/spell damage, add to saves and checks if player recieved a blessing
